Welcome to 1st Grade

Dear First Grade Friends,

Welcome to first grade! I am so excited to meet you and begin a fun, exciting, and amazing learning journey together!

My name is Mrs. Perez, and I’ll be your teacher this year. I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a mom to two wonderful kids—Emily, who is a senior at Hunterdon Central and starting her college applications (so exciting!), and Tiago, who is a sophomore and loves playing soccer and getting his workouts in. They keep me busy, and I love cheering them on!

This summer, my family and I will be spending time in Portugal and Spain, visiting family, enjoying delicious food, and exploring beautiful places. I can’t wait to share some stories and pictures with you when we’re all together in the classroom.

First grade is such a special year! We’ll read fun books, solve interesting math problems, write our own stories, explore science, and learn about the world around us. Most importantly, we’ll become a class family—helping each other, having fun, and learning side by side.
