Give to the Readington Educational Foundation

Through United Way Donor Choice Program

If you intend to make a charitable contribution through your company’s United Way drive this year and are allowed to select the organization that receives your money, why not keep your donation local?

The Readington Educational Foundation (REF) is kicking off its annual donor campaign by reminding township residents that many corporations and local chapters offer the United Way Donor Choice program, which allows you to designate the Readington Educational Foundation as your donor recipient.  By targeting your contribution to the REF, your money will be used to fund inventive and innovative hands-on programs that inspire students right here at home.

    Here’s how it works:

    ·         On web-based systems, simply enter the REF’s tax identification number, EIN #20-8670437, in the Donor’s Choice Tax ID box.

    ·         It will display:

    Readington Educational Foundation Incorporated

    48 Readington Road

    Whitehouse Station, NJ  08889

    Attn: Development Director

    908-534-1515

    ·         If the information doesn’t populate automatically or your system uses a manual method, you should still be able to enter the information by hand. If this doesn’t work, call your corporate United Way coordinator.

    ·         Every quarter in 2010 the Foundation will receive a check in your name!

“It’s a fabulous way to make sure your hard-earned money is used right here in Readington,” said REF President Gen Van Doren. “With the difficult economic climate the last year, our schools are even more hard-pressed to do more with less. The REF can take some of the pressure off by funding creative concepts that keep our district in the forefront of the state.”

Of course, you can also give directly to the Foundation. For details on how to do that, see "How to Make a Donation" on the left-hand side of the main REF menu. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. In addition, since Trustee contributions cover the group’s operating expenses, 100% of your gift will go directly toward school programming, directly impacting Readington students.

The REF is a nonprofit organization formed to raise private money to help pay for innovative school projects that otherwise wouldn’t receive funding. To date the Foundation has awarded more than $32,000 in grants to teachers in all four schools covering various curricular areas from the arts to science. A complete listing of the programs sponsored last year is available on our website.

Efforts to fund larger-scale projects are also under way. If you are interested in helping in the Foundation’s efforts, please email us at info@readingtonedu.org.
